Putting AI to Work: Insights, Tools & Tactics for Resorts

Artificial Intelligence isn’t some distant future—it’s already reshaping the world we live in. From predictive revenue models to real-time guest sentiment analysis, AI has the potential to revolutionize how ski resorts operate, market, and serve their guests.

At this year’s NSAA Western Trade Show and Conference, I had the opportunity to present “Putting AI to Work”—a no-fluff, high-impact breakdown of where AI is now, how we got here, and most importantly, what this all means for our industry.

We covered everything from GPUs and power consumption to why generative tools like ChatGPT, DALL·E, and Claude matter more than ever. I walked attendees through a foundational understanding of AI before diving into real-world applications—how tools like Microsoft Clarity and Claude are already being used to streamline operations, cut through data chaos, and surface insights in seconds.

But the message was clear: AI isn’t magic. It only works if you start with a clear business problem, clean up your data, and focus on delivering value—not gimmicks. As I said in the presentation, don’t just put Wi-Fi in a toaster—build something that actually matters to your guests.

I also showcased how we used generative AI to kickstart SnowCloud’s first major omnichannel campaign, saving time and aligning our creative team faster than ever. And we heard from leaders across the ski industry—including Deer Valley, Sundance, and Snowbasin—who are already using AI to unlock new possibilities.

Curious how it all fits together?
